An exciting beginning for the NEW Ohr Avigdor Shaar Avodas Elokim

Thank you, Rabbi Avigdor Miller ztl, for helping us move along the path of personal growth.
For one thousand years, Chovos Halevavos has been Klal Yisroel's steadfast guide to serving Hashem.
But while it has always been required reading, for many it was difficult reading. Tersely written, the
great depth and profundity of Rabbeinu Bachya's guide to the mitzvos of the mind eluded many.
Enter Rabbi Avigdor Miller.
In his trademark fashion, Rabbi Avigdor Miller delivered a shiur in Chovos Halevavos. Each word was
recorded, and comes to life anew in the Ohr Avigdor series published by Simchas Hachaim Publishing.
Rabbi Miller often reminded listeners that Chovos Halevavos was constructed like a house, each
chapter like a new floor built atop earlier chapters. Thus each new volume in the Ohr Avigdor series
offers the reader another rung to climb on the ladder towards spiritual perfection.
In Shaar Avodas Elokim, the third volume in the series, Rabbi Miller escorts the reader along a
path both intellectual and inspirational. Where Rabbeinu Bachya was brief, Rabbi Miller describes
in colorful detail the challenges and opportunities that comprise our personal service of Hashem.
Peppered with “Growth With Action” activities, the sefer truly is meant to be used as a tool for
The release of Shaar Avodas Elokim has sparked an increased interest in the first two volumes of the
Ohr Avigdor series: the Hakdama and Shaar Habechina. Booksellers report all three volumes selling
briskly (many stores have made the first two volumes available at a discount as companions to the
new Shaar Avodas Elokim volume). Direct sales through Simchas Hachaim Publishing, the official
publisher of Rabbi Miller's books and lectures, are strong.
A great debt of graitude goes to Reb Yitzchok Kirzner, the veteran editor whose skillful pen fashioned
the third volume with all the magic and clarity of the first two. All three volumes have been highly
praised by readers. The Ohr Avigdor series is the fruit of years of Mr. Kirzner's devotion in bringing
Rabbi Miller's vivid Chovos Halevavos lectures alive on the printed page.
And Mr. Kirzner has good news for readers: the next volume, Shaar Bitachon, is well underway.
Simchas Hachaim Publishing hopes to release it by this time next year, and to bring a new volume to
print about once each year until the series is complete—all 10 volumes, from the Hakdama to the
final chapter, Loving Hashem.
Stroll along the path of personal growth with the new Ohr Avigdor Shaar Avodas Elokim in hand, and
join Klal Yisroel in thanking Rabbi Avigdor Miller.
Shaar Avodas Elokim is available from Jewish book sellers everywhere, or directly from
